What does the Hemp Temps background check include?
Our checks include identity verification, federal and state criminal history, sex offender registry, and state-specific cannabis compliance eligibility. All checks are run through our partner CBadge, which specializes in cannabis workforce screening.
How long does the background check process take?
Most background checks complete within 24 to 48 hours. Complex cases or multi-state checks may take up to 72 hours. We do not place workers until their check is fully cleared.
Do I need to pay for the background check as an employer?
Background check costs are included in our staffing service fee. There are no separate charges for employers — it is part of what we deliver with every placement.
What happens if a worker does not pass?
Workers who do not meet our screening standards are not placed. We maintain a database of cleared, CBadge-certified workers so you only ever see candidates who have already passed.
Are background checks state-specific?
Yes. Cannabis compliance requirements vary by state. We run checks appropriate to the state where the worker will be placed and verify they meet that state's licensing board requirements.
